Positive: The property is in a lovely old Swedish manor house. I don’t think it will remain a bed and breakfast for long, unfortunately, as the new owners have other plans. The property is convenient to the Swedish glass works, and it’s an easy drive into Kalmar (which has a great castle), and Växjö, which has a wonderful glass museum and emigrant museum. The breakfast at Grimsnäs Herrgård was very good, with a wide selection. And the owners kindly allowed us to do a load of laundry, and made a kitchen available to us. Our room was charming.

Negative: There are very few decent restaurants in the area.
